Three new Munster releases

Straight up chumps, not one but three….well how about that then?

First up…

Artist: ZELATORS

Title: ONE WAY LOVEzelators

Label: Munster

File under: New Wave

Format: 7”

Hailing from Madrid, Zelators are back after their 2015 debut 7” for Rufus Recordings, and their new offering is another blast of unfiltered, unhinged sound coming at you from the meeting point of B-52’s, Specials, Damned, Question Mark & The Mysterians and Devo. You can’t put a label on this band, as Zelators pick and mix from all decades, genres and rhythms to shake those elements and create their own mutant sound. Followed by…

Artist: KNOCKER JUNGLE

Title: S/Tknocker

Label: Vinilísssimo

File under: Psych-folk

Format: LP

Knocker Jungle’s sole LP was released by Ember in 1970 when the duo had already split. Little is known about members Tony Coop and Keith Jones, but their music displays a true passion for classic song-based artists, from Donovan to Nick Drake or Dylan. Tony Cox held production duties and Dave Pegg and Mattacks from Fairport Convention featured among the band players. Almost 47 years after the original album was withdrawn from sale due to a controversial picture in the inner sleeve, this rare gem gets a deserved vinyl reissue. Presented in facsimile gatefold sleeve and pressed on 180g vinyl.

Lastly…

Artist: BRAZILIAN OCTOPUS

Title: S/Tbrazilian-octopus

Label: Vinilísssimo

File under: Brazilian grooves

Format: LP

The only album by Brazilian Octopus is a wonderful mix of bossa nova, pop, Cuban rhythms, jazz and all kinds of cool sounds and vibes that transcends any possible category. Among several top musicians, the band features Hermeto Pascoal, Cido Bianchi (former Milton Banana Trio member) and Lanny Gordin. Presented in facsimile artwork and pressed on 180g vinyl.

So there you have it.
